GNSS Antennas and Accessories

TimeTools GPS and Multi-GNSS antennas and accessories provide reliable signal reception of GPS and GNSS signals for timing systems.

Multi-GNSS GPS Timing Antenna

Product Information>

The Global Positioning System (GPS) consists of a constellation of 31 orbiting satellites. Each satellite contains a highly accurate atomic clock that is periodically synchronized to an Earth based reference clock. The GPS system in conjunction with NTP hardware provides a reliable time reference for network timing applications.

Advantages of GNSS NTP Servers.

The GPS system is synchronized to atomic time. It provides a highly accurate source of time for timing applications.

Reliable signal reception. Reception of satellite signals is generally far more reliable than ground based transmitters.

GPS signals can be received anywhere on Earth. A constellation of 31 active satellites constantly orbit the Earth to provide constant world-wide signal reception

Fail safe. The constellation of 31 orbiting active satellites provide a relatively fail-safe system.

Disadvantages of GNSS NTP Servers.

A GPS antenna requires ideally requires an unobscured view of the sky. However TimeTools NTP servers have a high-sensitivity GPS receiver, which can often receive GPS signal with and indoor or window mounted antenna.

The service is provided by and relies on a single operator – the US government. However, a multi-GNSS solution, such as TimeTools T550 can utilize multiple satelite systems, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou providing increased reliability and redundancy.
