TimeTools T500 is a stratum-1 GPS referenced NTP server appliance with an integrated high-stability TCXO oscillator. The device provides a highly accurate time reference for synchronizing computer networks. The T500 features a high-quality 19” rack-mountable aluminium enclosure with a large 40 character by 2 line LCD display. The display shows useful at-a-glance status and configuration information.
NTP and SNTP Network Time Synchronization
Any NTP or SNTP compliant device can obtain accurate time from the T500 to synchronize within milliseconds of the correct time. The T500 can accurately synchronize servers, workstations, CCTV systems, Digital Video Recorders, Video surveillance systems and network infrastructure. The T500 provides a highly accurate timing solutions for any network. This is combined with the ability to synchronize more than 200,000 clients, assuming a standard NTP poll rate of 128 seconds, which is achieved without affecting the accuracy of the unit.

High Specification GPS Timing Receiver
The T500 utilises a cutting-edge 16-channel GPS receiver specifically designed for timing applications. The GPS receiver provides timestamps accurate to within 15 nanoseconds of UTC time, equivalent to 1 sigma. This allows the NTP sub-system to synchronize to within 1 microsecond of UTC. The receiver also has the ability to provide fully automatic impending leap-second warning and insertion. This means that leap-seconds are correctly inserted without any operator intervention.
The NTP appliance’s GPS receiver utilises TRAIM (Time Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) algorithm which is specifically designed for timing applications to filter out of specification satellites and maintain high integrity timing.
Dual Ethernet Capability
The T500 supports dual 10/100 Mbit auto-sensing Ethernet network ports. Both Ethernet ports support Auto-MDIX which allows the device to automatically detect whether straight through or cross over Ethernet cable is being used and adjust accordingly to make a link.
High-Stability Oscillator
The high-stability TCXO oscillator provides the T500 with a backup time reference in the event of loss of GPS satellite signals. It allows stratum-1 operation to be maintained for a 24-hour period or until GPS signal lock is reinstated. The device also allows peering to multiple external NTP servers to provide a high degree of resilience.
